Pilgrimage to Mecca: CM YS Jagan Meets Hajj Pilgrims at Guntur Hajj House

Guntur: Chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy met the Hajj pilgrims in Guntur on Thursday. This is the first time the pilgrims are starting their spiritual journey of Hajj from a Hajj House located at Nambur village near Guntur on the national highway. 

The first batch of Hajj pilgrims started their pilgrimage to the Islamic holy cities of Mecca and Medina on Wednesday. The chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy visited the Hajj House and participated in the special prayers held at the time of departure of pilgrims. 

The chief minister wished the Hajj pilgrims well for their 41-day pilgrimage and appealed to them to pray for the welfare of Andhra Pradesh state. YS Jagan assured the Hajj pilgrims that their spiritual journey would be without problems and the deputy Chief Minister Amzath Basha and the members of Hajj Committee would ensure hassle-free travel for them. 

The pilgrims are being transported in buses from Hajj House to Gannavaram Airport near Vijayawada. They will travel to Jeddah, the gateway to the holy pilgrimage to Mecca and Medina from the embarkation point set up at the airport. 

A total of 1,814 Hajj pilgrims are going on a pilgrimage to the holy Mecca this year. According to Amzath Basha, the YS Jagan government is spending an additional Rs 80,000 on each pilgrim.  He also said the YSRCP government is standing with the minorities of the state.
