AP Global Investors Meet: Security Tightened in Andhra Pradesh

 - Sakshi Post

The state police have put extensive security measures in place for the almost 7,000 dignitaries attending the AP Global Investors' Conference in Visakhapatnam on March 3 and 4. These dignitaries include federal and state ministers, prominent businessmen, foreign ambassadors, and senior officials. The Andhra University engineering campus grounds serve as the major site, therefore the police are sanitising the area and conducting an anti-sabotage exercise to ensure the safety and security of the VIPs.

Following the summit, the police tightened security at the locations where the VVIPs arrive, stay, and departure. By deploying staff from other districts as well, 1,500 to 2,000 police officers of various grades are being stationed in the steel city. Only those who have registered for participation will be allowed entry to the summit's main venue. Each participant will receive a pass with a QR code and a picture ID. At the entrances, there will be thorough inspection. On the first day of the summit, a gala dinner will be hosted at MGM Palace; the police are closely monitoring the venue to prevent any security difficulties. To ensure that the VVIP mobility remains seamless throughout the two days, the city will regulate motor traffic.

Srikanth, the head of the city police, stated, "We are planning a multi-layered security system to assure the safety of all the dignitaries. 6,000 to 7,000 dignitaries are scheduled to attend the meeting. We would send out 1,500 to 2,000 police officers of various ranks to provide the guests with impenetrable security.
