Speaker Suspends TDP MLAs  From AP Assembly Budget Session 2023 - Sakshi Post

AP Annual Budget 2023-24 Presentation Session: Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker Tammineni Sitaram suspended the Opposition Telugu Desam Party ( TDP) members for obstructing the  State Budget presentation session on Thursday.

Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath who commenced the Budget session with a quote by poet Rabindranath Tagore was obstructed by the TDP members who raised slogans in the Assembly Hall. Despite repeated requests by Speaker Tammineni Sitaram to sit down and participate in the Budget Session, the TDP leaders refused to relent. Papers were thrown at the Speaker's podium. With this, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed his anger at the behavior of TDP members. He recommended to the Speaker to suspend the TDP members for their unruly behaviour.  Even as the Finance Minister continued his speech the TDP members continued to disrupt his speech and the proceedings leading to a privileged motion proposed by Buggana who is also the Minister for Legislative Affairs to have the TDP MLAs suspended from the House for one day for repeatedly obstructing the Budget presentation.

Accordingly, the Speaker announced that Bendalam Ashok, Kinjarapu Atchannaidu, Adireddy Bhavani, Nimmakayala Chinarajappa, Gorantla Buchaiah Choudary, Jogeshwara Rao, Gadde Rammohan, Manthena Ramaraju, Gottipati Ravikumar, Eluri Sambasiva Rao, Velagapudi Ramakrishna, DBV Swamy, and Nandamuri Balakrishna were suspended for a day.

The Andhra Pradesh budget is being tabled on Thursday with the Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath presenting the Annual Budget in the Assembly. The AP cabinet held a meeting on Thursday to clear the AP Budget 2023-24 which is likely to be around Rs 2.79 lakh crore.
