Andhra Pradesh Registers 78.46% Voter Turnout Amid Sporadic Violence

Amaravati: Barring few sporadic incidents, the polling exercise for 2024 Assembly and Lok Sabha elections remained peaceful and smooth in the state on Monday. The fate of 454 Lok Sabha and 2,387 Assembly has been sealed in the EVMs.

The Telugu state recorded a voter turnout of 78.46 percent in Assembly elections while 78.25 percent votes were polled in the Lok Sabha elections as per the figures released by the Election Commission of India (ECI).

According to the ECI, Dharmavaram constituency in Satya Sai district witnessed the highest turnout of 78.46 percent while Ungutur constituency in Eluru district is placed second as the voter turnout of 87.75 percent was recorded here. Paderu assembly constituency saw the lowest turnout with 55.45 percent of votes cast.

Key constituencies of YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy (Pulivendula), TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu (Kuppam) and Jana Sena chief and actor Pawan Kalyan (Pithapuram) also witnessed a turnout of over 80 percent, 81.06 percent and 81.45 percent respectively.
