Telangana Votes: Congress Files Complaint with Poll Body against BRS MLC Kavitha

 - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: Congress on Thursday lodged a complaint with the Election Commission against the Bharat Rashtra Samitha (BRS) MLC and Telangana chief minister KCR’s daughter K Kavitha accusing her of violating the election code.

In his complaint, Congress Chairman of the Election Commission Coordination Committee G Niranjan alleged that the BRS leader violated the election code by “appealing to people to vote for her party”.

“Kavitha has violated the election code by appealing to people to vote for her party. While addressing the media after exercising her vote at the polling station in DAV School, Banjara Hills, Kavitha appealed to the voters to vote for BRS which is in violation of the code,” the Congress alleged in his complaint.

Niranjan has requested the State Chief Electoral Officer Vikas Raj to initiate action against her. Kavitha exercised her franchise at the polling station in DAV School, Banjara Hills on Thursday morning and made an earnest appeal to the electorate through media persons to come out and vote and strengthen the democracy.

The polling process is going at a snail's place in several polling stations across the state. Over 3.26 crore eligible voters are exercising their franchise to decide the fate of 2,290 contestants in the Telangana assembly elections.
