Telangana Polls: This Assembly Seat in Warangal Lucky Charm for Candidates

Warangal: This constituency  has proved to be a lucky charm for many candidates during elections. Those who have contested elections from this seat have become MLAs, MPs and ministers in their political careers. Let’s take a look at the constituency which has proved ‘lucky’ for many hopefuls. 

Every constituency is unique in its own way and this uniqueness comes to the fore during election time. Wardhannapet constituency of Warangal district has its own unique identity. Whoever has fought elections from this assembly segment has seen an upward trend in their political graph.

In the erstwhile district, Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Errabelli Varadarajeswara Rao, Thakkalapalli Purushothama Rao, Errabelli Pradeep Rao, Boyinapalli Vinod Kumar, Kadiyam Srihari, Muthireddy Yadagiri Reddy and Vannala Sriramulu have contested the polls from Wardhannapet constituency. Among them, Purushothama Rao, Errabelli Dayakar Rao and Kadiyam Srihari served as state ministers in undivided Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. 

Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao is a three-time MLA from Wardhannapet. FOllowing the 2009 Delimitation of Constituencies, Wardhannapet was converted to SC constituency. In the same year, Kondeti Sridhar successfully contested the assembly elections on a Congress ticket. While the TRS (now BRS) candidate Aroori Ramesh won the seat in the 2014 and 2018 elections and now is hoping to score a hat-trick from the same assembly segment.
