Taste Atlas Awards 2024-25: Mumbai Ranks 5th

In a high-profile ranking issued by Taste Atlas, a respected food and travel guide, Mumbai has come out as the 5th best food city in the world. The Taste Atlas Awards 2024-25 have recognized the city's dynamic food scene and the depth of its culinary richness.

Mumbai leads other big cities like Hyderabad, which slipped to 50th place from its previous ranking. Hyderabad dropped significantly in the ranking as it was ranked at 39th position last year.

Indian Cities Shine

Several Indian cities have made it to the coveted list, with Mumbai at the top of the league. Amritsar secured 43rd, and New Delhi placed 45th. Kolkata and Chennai feature on the list as well, ranking 71st and 75th respectively.

Global Rankings

The top four cities in this list are Italian: Naples, Milan, Bologna, and Florence. The 5th position of Mumbai testifies to its gastronomic glory in surpassing renowned food cities such as Rome, Paris, Vienna, Turin, and Osaka.

In the previous year's rankings, Mumbai ranked 35, Hyderabad ranked 39, Delhi ranked 56, Chennai ranked 65, and Lucknow ranked 92.

This is quite a significant boost to the reputation of Indian cuisine all over the world. It is not long before other Indian cities make their presence felt on the culinary map, and there's going to be exciting change in Indian cuisine.
