TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu is Anti-Dalit : Minister Merugu Nagarjuna 

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Social Welfare Minister Merugu Nagarjuna on Tuesday slammed Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief Chandrababu Naidu for wooing Dalits ahead of Assembly elections in the state. 

The YSRCP minister said Naidu had done nothing for the welfare of the Dalit community during his time as chief minister. He said during TDP’s regime Dalits were attacked but the then government remained a mute spectator.  

Describing the TDP chief as ‘Dalita Drohi Chandrababu’, the minister Merugu Nagarjuna said that the Opposition leader has only used Dalits for political gains. He added that their government would take action against those who orchestrated attacks against Dalits. 

“Naidu is an anti-Dalit and he has always used them for political gains. Recently, he opposed the YSRCP government’s move to allot house sites to the Dalit community in Amaravati Capital Region,” Merugu Nagarjuna said. 

The Social Welfare Minister also criticised the media baron Ramoji Rao, chairman of the Eenadu Group, for carrying articles based on half-truths in his Telugu daily. He said the Telugu daily is continuously targeting the state government for no reason. He also questioned why the Telugu daily did not report it when Naidu had made anti-Dalit remarks.
