Hyderabad: In the face of Ola and Uber cab drivers joining the indefinite strike called by employees of TSRTC, state Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan has appealed to all cab drivers to call off their agitation to ease commuters woes.

According to reports, Soundararajan made the appeal to a delegation of leaders of cab drivers who submitted a representation to her on Saturday. She assured that their request will be forwarded to the government and asked them to take proper channels.

She urged cab drivers to call off the strike as it was causing inconvenience to common man.

The TSRTC strike entered its 16th day on Sunday with no signs of coming to an end. The agitating RTC staff called for a state-wide bandh on Saturday which was actively supported by all opposition parties, including the Congress, BJP, TDP and the Left, and also students' unions and others.

Different employees and workers unions of TSRTC began the indefinite strike from October 5 on a call given by the JAC, demanding merger of the RTC with the government and recruitment to various posts, among others.

Meanwhile, the ruling TRS government has called the strike illegal.
