TG series: Record bid of Rs 9.61 lakh for this fancy vehicle number

The process of registration of vehicles under the new registration code TG (Telangana) began on Friday. The e-bidding for fancy (special) numbers received an overwhelming response, according to the RTA officials. 

The vehicle owners paid Rs 30.49 lakh for fancy numbers at Khairatabad RTA office in Hyderabad. Rudraraju Rajeev Kumar won the highest bid for the fancy number ‘TG 09 0001’ and paid Rs 9.61 lakh rupees for it. While the bidding for another fancy number ‘TG 09 09090’ was won by Bhavya Sindhu Infra. The company paid Rs 2.30 lakh for this unique registration number. 

Similarly, another vehicle owner Shanivatha Reddy paid Rs 2.21 lakh for 'TG 09 0005'. Dushyant Reddy paid Rs 1.22 lakh for 'TG 09 0002'. He bought two more fancy numbers by paying Rs 1.20 lakh and Rs 1.07 lakh for 'TG 09 0369' and 'TG 09 0007' respectively.

The Bandlaguda RTA office recorded a revenue of Rs 3.32 lakh from a fancy number auction on the first day. Hyderabad JTC Ramesh said that the online bidding held at Tolichowki RTA office in West Zone earned more than Rs 5.38 lakh while the Secunderabad RTA earned Rs 8.52 lakh through the bidding process of fancy numbers. Notably, the state government had announced that all vehicle registrations in Telangana will bear the registration code TG instead of TS from March 15, 2024.
