SM Entertainment Introduces 2 Rookies To Join NCT

After revealing that Sungchan and Shotaro would depart NCT and make their debut in a new boy band last month on May 24, SM Entertainment announced their plans to also debut a new NCT team and a new girl group this year.

The agency would soon reveal two new SM Rookies of Japanese and Korean nationalities who would be joining the group, according to SM Entertainment CEO Jang Cheol Hyuk, who made the announcement at the time. He also said that the new NCT team would be the last chapter in NCT's expansion. 

The first teaser videos for the two new members were ultimately released by SM Rookies on their official social media platforms on June 28 at 6:00 PM KST. Yushi and Sion are the first and second members, respectively.
