YS Jagan Speech Highlights: "I Will Stand by Every Farmer Until Justice Is Done"

YSRCP chief and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy visited the cyclone-hit paddy fields near Akumarru Lake in Ramarajupalem area of Krishna district on Tuesday. The region suffered extensive crop damage due to Cyclone Monga.

During his visit, farmers showed Jagan the waterlogged paddy fields and shared their distress. They complained that no crop loss assessment had been done and that they hadn’t received input subsidies for the past 18 months.

YS Jagan consoled the farmers and assured them of full support. “I will stand by every farmer until justice is done,” he said.

Jagan Slams Coalition Government’s Negligence

Speaking to the media later, Jagan said the condition of farmers in Andhra Pradesh had worsened under the coalition government. “Cyclone Monga has affected 25 districts and damaged crops in over 15 lakh acres. In just 18 months of coalition rule, the state has witnessed 16 natural disasters,” he remarked.

He further criticized the government, listing several failures:

• Cyclone Monga struck right when the crops were at the grain-filling stage.
• Farmers are not getting fair prices for their produce.
• No crop insurance is being provided under the current government.
• Not a single rupee has been released as input subsidy.
• Farmers are now recalling the security they felt during YSRCP’s rule, when they had “Jagan’s assurance.”
• Jagan said that during his tenure:
• Every RBK (Rythu Bharosa Kendra) had an agriculture officer to support farmers.
• The e-Crop system ensured benefits reached genuine farmers.
• RBKs guided farmers in every step — from cultivation to sale.
• A competitive system was introduced for crop procurement.
• ₹7,800 crore was spent to ensure Minimum Support Price (MSP) for crops.
• A ₹3,000 crore Price Stabilization Fund was created.
• Insurance premiums were paid for 85 lakh farmers.

“In contrast, only 19 lakh farmers are now covered under insurance,” he said, blaming the current administration for ignoring the farming community’s struggles.

Jagan concluded by reiterating his solidarity with the affected farmers, promising to continue fighting for their rights and relief until the government responds effectively.
