Naidu Looted Public Money in Skill Development Scam: AG Sudhakar Reddy

 - Sakshi Post

Former Andhra Pradesh chief minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief Chandrababu Naidu has come under sharp criticism from Advocate General Ponnavolu Sudhakar Reddy for his role in the multi-crore AP Skill Development Corporation scam case.

During an interaction with the media persons in Nellore, Sudhakar Reddy termed Naidu a “thief who was caught red-handed in the Skill Development scam”. He said Naidu embezzled Rs 371 crore rupees from the AP Skill Development Corporation through shell companies. He also said the then Naidu-led TDP government ignored the objections raised by the Finance Department.

The Advocate General asserted that Naidu’s intentions were mala fide right from the beginning and therefore the TDP regime went ahead with the project even though it was not in accordance with the GO-4.

The TDP supremo was arrested by the CID in September last year and lodged in Rajahmundry Central Jail in connection with the Skill Development Corporation scam case. Sudhakar Reddy said the State government provided all facilities to the Opposition leader despite his decisions resulting in a loss to the public exchequer.

Earlier this week, the Supreme Court delivered a split verdict on a plea filed by Naidu challenging criminal proceedings against him in the Skill Development Corporation scam case. Referring to the apex court’s split ruling, Sudhakar Reddy said that the matter has now been referred to the larger bench headed by the Chief Justice of India. The guilty will not be spared in the corruption case, he added.
