Jana Sena's Poll Symbol: YSRCP Raises Objection!

 - Sakshi Post

VIjayawada: A delegation of YSRCP led by party MP V Vijayasai Reddy met Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar here on Tuesday. In his representation to the CEC, Reddy conveyed his objection to the allocation of common poll symbol to an unrecognised political entity like Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena Party (JSP).

Addressing the reporters after meeting the CEC, Vijayasai Reddy said they have raised six issues with the Election Commission. He said the party delegation raised its concern over the illegal voter profiling being conducted by the opposition TDP through a website. Reddy said the TDP’s exercise violates Section 123(3) of the Representation of the People Act, 1951. He also said that the District Collectors have asserted that no bogus voters have been included in the electoral lists.

YSRCP MP further said they have asked the Election Commission to look into the dual voters issue. He said the voters cannot vote in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and they have to get their names deleted from one Telugu state’s electoral list to exercise their franchise in the neighbouring state.

Vijayasai Reddy added that they have brought to the notice of the Commission that the TDP’s national general secretary Nara Lokesh is intimidating the administrative and law enforcement officials with the Red Book in which he’s noting down their names. The TDP leader has indicated that if the TDP government is voted to power in the ensuing Assembly elections, the party will initiate actions against the recognised officials. Reddy added that they have requested the Election Commission to hold the State Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in a single phase.
