EC to set up over 46,000 polling booths: AP CEO

Vijayawada: After the Chief Election Commissioner’s announcement of poll schedules for both 2024 General Elections and 2024 AP Assembly elections, Andhra Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Mukesh Kumar Meena said that the state election commission is prepared to hold the elections. He said the elections to 175 assembly seats and 25 Lok Sabha seats will be held in a single phase in the state. 

The voting will take place on May 13, 2024 and counting of votes on June 4,2024. CEO Meena said that polling will be held in over 46,000 polling booths across Andhra Pradesh. He stated that polling staff and other eligible voters can exercise their franchise through postal ballot. Voters who are above 85 years of age will be eligible for voting from home facility. Voter cards will be distributed to those who have applied by the end of the month.
