Unbelievable! Migrant Worker Walks From Gujarat To Assam For 25 Days

GUWAHATI: Nothing is impossible. This proverb has been proven true by Jadav Gogoi, a 46-year-old man who travelled from Gujarat for about 2,800 km to reach his native in Assam's Nagaon district.

Amid the nationwide lockdown due to the the coronavirus pandemic, Gogoi, a migrant labourer who worked in Vapi, Gujarat reached his home after hitchiking and walking for 25 days and lived to tell his tale.

Gogoi, with Rs 4,000 in his pocket, began his journey from Vapi on March 27 and reached Raha in Nagaon district on Sunday night.

During the unbelievable journey from Vapi to Nagaon, he was robbed and lost his money, mobile phone and the other items that he was carrying.

When some locals found that he was resting in a roadside area, they informed police. On interrogation, Gogoi said that he hails from Gadharia Karaoini village, and after walking from Bihar, he reached Raha.

Gogoi was admitted at Nagaon civil hospital. He has been asked to be in quarantine although his condition is stable.
