Students and residents from nearby areas gathered in huge numbers at the police station where the accused were kept in custody. Police had a tough time in dealing with the demonstrators as they squatted on the road in front of the police station and also tried to barge.

Most of the demonstrators have demanded that harsh punishment should be given to all the four accused with which there will not be a repetition of the incident anywhere. At one stage, locals and students even tried forcible entry into the police station and raised slogans demanding justice for the victim.

Police blocked the people from entering into the police station, which led to a clash between police and protesters.

According to police, the accused will be first taken to a hospital for medical examination and then to a fast track court, for which they deployed forces to ensure no untoward incident can take place near police station while shifting the accused.
