‘Smile’ Teams Rescue 581 Children Forced Into Child Abuse, Labour

Hyderabad: In a span of one year, Smile teams of Cyberabad police commissionerate have rescued as many as 581 children forced into child labour, rag-picking or even begging.

Police said they have rescued 268 boys and 213 girls from June 18, 2018.

In five cases, the victims were also sexually abused and police have booked cases against the accused.

Cyberabad police commissioner V.C. Sajjanar said that special teams were formed to trace the kids who are aged below 14 years and trace them.

The commissioner urged people to share information through Dial 100 or WhatsApp on 7901115474 to share information on child abuse. The police would rescue the kids and also provide care for them.
