In a proud milestone for Malayalam cinema, Bramayugam has solidified its place as one of the most acclaimed films of the year, sweeping four major honours at the 55th Kerala State Film Awards. Revered by audiences and critics alike, the film continues to stand tall as a genre-defining masterpiece that reshaped the contours of contemporary Malayalam storytelling.

The film’s remarkable victories include: Best Actor – Mammootty, Best Character Actor (Male) – Sidharth Bharathan, Best Music Director (Score) – Christo Xavier, and Best Makeup Artist – Ronex Xavier.

Mammootty’s hauntingly magnetic portrayal of a mysterious recluse reaffirmed his position as one of India’s greatest performers, while the film itself has become a symbol of Malayalam cinema’s fearless creativity and narrative innovation.

Producers Ramachandra Chakravarthy (Night Shift Studios) and S. Sashikanth (YNOT Studios) expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Kerala State Government, the jury, critics, media, and audiences for recognising their film’s vision.
“These awards reaffirm our faith in the power of experimentation and storytelling,” they said. “This recognition inspires us to keep creating films that defy conventions and expand the cinematic imagination of Kerala. Our deepest thanks to director Rahul Sadasivan, the cast, crew, and every viewer who embraced Bramayugam.”

Released last year to widespread critical acclaim, Bramayugam — written and directed by Rahul Sadasivan — featured a stellar ensemble including Mammootty, Arjun Ashokan, Sidharth Bharathan, and Amalda Liz. Its spellbinding narrative, immersive score, and striking visual style made it an instant classic and one of the most-discussed Malayalam films in recent memory.

More than just a film, Bramayugam reaffirmed Mammootty’s unmatched gift for reinvention and marked a defining moment for Kerala cinema — a celebration of bold imagination, artistic courage, and the boundless possibilities of storytelling.
