AP Assembly Winter Session 2019: Security Of Women, Power Sector To Be Discussed

AP Assembly Winter Session 2019 - Sakshi Post

AMARAVATI: The Andhra Pradesh (AP) Legislative Assembly Winter Sessions commenced on Monday , December 9 at 9:00 am. The sessions will continue for seven days , where Saturday and Sunday would be holidays.

As per the first day’s agenda a short discussion on the security of women in the State would be discussed after the Disha incident which happened in Telangana. The day would start with the tabling of:

  • AP Charitable and Hindu Religious Institutions and Endowments (Amendment) Ordinance
  • AP Excise (Amendment) Ordinance
  • Submission of the annual report of the A.P. State Seeds Development Corporation Limited for 2018-19,
  • Audit report of the A.P. Pollution Control Board for 2016-17 and notifications related to the A.P. Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017.

Apart from this, there would also be a session to discuss the measures taken by the government to resolve issues related to Schedules 9 and 10 of the AP Reorganisation Act. This was prompted after the meetings, which Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had with his Telangana counterpart Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.

The details of the Gopal Reddy Committee report on the power sector will also be discussed with the Minister of Energy during the course of the day.

The winter session of the Legislative Council Winter session starts at 10 a.m.
