V Vijayasai Appointed AP Govt Emissary In New Delhi
Amaravati: Given the importance of negotiating efficiently to secure Special Status and funds promised to the State, the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's government appointed YSRCP general secretary and Rajya Sabha MP V Vijayasai Reddy as Special Representative of Government of Andhra Pradesh in New Delhi.
In his orders issued on Saturday, Chief Secretary LV Subramaniam stated that V Vijayasai Reddy has been appointed in the said position with immediate effect and accorded a Cabinet rank.
The particular move by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy comes in line with his oft-repeated view that the Centre has the responsibility to fulfill the promises made to Andhra Pradesh following bifurcation. It appears certain that this appointment serves as a shot in the arm for YSRCP government as Vijayasai Reddy known for drawing up strategies will be a better fit to "prevail upon" the Centre - as YS Jagan says time and again - until Special Status is granted.
