YS Jagan, KCR To Meet On June 17

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and his Telangana counterpart K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) will meet on June 17 in Amaravati, sources from the YSR Congress Party and Telangana Rashtra Samithi said Friday.

According to party sources they are expected to carry their negotiations forward on resolving bifurcation-related issues between the two states,

KCR who is also the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief, is coming to the Andhra Pradesh capital for inviting his counterpart for the inauguration of Kaleswaram irrigation project on June 21. After he took over as Chief Minister on May 30, YS Jagan has began talks with KCR on resolving post-bifurcation issues, official sources said.

Earlier KCR met his Maharashtra counterpart Devendra Fadnavis in Mumbai and invited him to the inauguration of the Kaleswaram irrigation project on June 21.He also met Maharashtra Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao at the Raj Bhavan in Mumbai. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy would also be invited to the event, the CMO said earlier.

The Kaleswaram project across the Godavari river, which flows through Maharashtra, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, aims at meeting drinking water requirements of about 80 per cent of districts in the state,besides the farm sector and industries.(With inputs from PTI)
