Is Sarileru Neekevvaru Vijayashanthi’s Swansong In TFI?

Former Tollywood actress and Congress leader Vijayashanthi is winning hearts since her debut in the film industry in 1979 with the movies Kirakkul Eram &Kiladi Krishnudu. She was last seen in Anil Ravipudi's Sarileru Neekevvaru in which Mahesh Babu played the lead role as an army major Ajay Krishna. The film turned out to be a blockbuster and is continuing its success spree in theatres.

During the promotions of Sarileru Neekevvaru, the former superstar Vijayashanthi stated that she would be continuing her career in the film industry and that she will be doing at least one film every year. However, here comes the twist-Vijayashanthi has decided to quit films again.

Recently, Vijayashanthi took to her Twitter and shared the news of taking bidding adieu from her film career.

" I don't know I could get the time to do another film or not, as my journey will continue for the people. For now, I'll take leave", Vijayashanthi tweeted in Telugu. She thanked her fans and the audience for the super success of Sarileru Neekevvaru. She ended the tweet with a ''Thank you'' and tagged Superstar Krishna, Superstar Mahesh Babu and Sarileru Neekevvaru director Anil Ravipudi.

In a coincidence of sorts, Vijayashanthi first started her career in Telugu with Mahesh Babu's father Superstar Krishna in the year 1980 with Kiladi Krishnudu. She also has the distinction of acting with Mahesh Babu who played the role of her son in Koduku Diddina Kapooram in 1989, who was a child artiste then. Again, in 2020 she acted with him in Sarileru Neekevvaru after a gap of more than 30 years.

Sarileru Neekevvaru also marked her return to the silver screen after a gap of 13 years as she took a break owing to her political career.

Fans are wondering why the actress is not interested to do films anymore that too after a successful comeback. There are reports that she is also not so busy in her political career especially after her tryst with BJP,TRS, and now the Congress. Many fans replied to her tweet and requested her not to take this decision.

However, we need to see whether Vijayashanti has taken a short break from the industry or will Sarileru Neekevvaru mark her swansong in the Telugu film industry.
