4 Mar, 2025 11:17 IST

Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, is a holy time of fasting, prayer, and contemplation for Muslims everywhere. This year, Ramadan will start on March 1, 2025, and will continue until March 30, 2025, with Eid-al-Fitr festivities to celebrate the completion of the holy period on March 31.

During Ramadan, Muslims abstain from food and drink from sunrise to sunset. This is one of the Five Pillars of Islam and is aimed at developing self-control, compassion for the poor, and closer fellowship with Allah.
