‘Cockroach Janta Party’ Trends Big on Instagram

A satirical political movement called the “Cockroach Janta Party” has taken social media by storm after recent comments made by the Chief Justice of India during a court hearing triggered widespread reactions online.

The controversy began after Chief Justice of India Surya Kant reportedly made sharp remarks about a section of unemployed youth, suggesting that frustration over lack of jobs was pushing some people away from social norms. The statement quickly sparked criticism and debate across social media platforms, especially among young job seekers and students preparing for competitive exams.

Soon after the remarks went viral, a parody political outfit named the “Cockroach Janta Party” emerged online. The movement was launched by Abhijeet Dipke, who is reportedly a former social media activist associated with AAP and a student at Boston University.

The parody party gained attention for its humorous political messaging and mock manifesto. Despite its satirical tone, the manifesto includes topics such as:

The social media response has been massive. The parody party’s Instagram account reportedly crossed 9.6 million followers within a short period, making it one of the fastest-growing political parody pages online.

The trend has also highlighted growing frustration among sections of youth over unemployment, exam controversies and political discourse in the country. Memes, videos and parody campaign posters linked to the “Cockroach Janta Party” have flooded platforms like Instagram and X.

While the movement remains a satirical online campaign, it has become one of the most talked-about internet trends of the week.
