Dhanush Reacts to National Awards Controversy

The announcement of the latest National Film Awards has triggered intense discussions among Tamil cinema fans, with Dhanush's Raayan becoming one of the most talked-about winners. While many congratulated the actor-filmmaker, others questioned the jury's decisions, leading to widespread debate on social media.

A section of movie lovers argued that critically acclaimed films like Maharaja, starring Vijay Sethupathi, deserved recognition. Fans also pointed to other well-received films, including Meiyazhagan and Vaazha, claiming they were overlooked despite receiving praise from audiences and critics.

Vikram's supporters were particularly disappointed after Thangalaan failed to secure a National Award. Many highlighted the actor's remarkable transformation and dedication to the role, recalling behind-the-scenes videos that showcased the physical and emotional challenges he faced during filming. Fans felt that such an intense performance deserved national recognition.

As the debate gained momentum, Dhanush broke his silence and addressed the criticism. The actor stated that several of his earlier films, including Maryan, Pudhupettai, Mayakkam Enna, and Vada Chennai, had also been considered award-worthy by many fans but did not receive National Awards.
