WannaCry Virus Hits TTD, 36 Computers Affected

Three dozen computers installed for local administration at the TTD headquarters were attacked by the virus

Tirupati: The WannaCry ransomware virus has now hit Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) and nearly three dozen computers have been affected.

PRO Talari Ravi said: "Of over 2,500 computers, three dozen computers installed for local administration at the TTD headquarters were attacked by the virus."

The affected computers were older versions that were later updated, he said, adding that the virus issue has also been fixed completely.

A few hundred of the updated computers attached to the hill temple and others offering e-services to devotees were not hit as the TTD's IT wing, in collaboration with IT major TCS, had taken all precautionary measures.
