Ugadi to unveil Hyderabad's first Metro rail

The chugging of the prestigious Metro rail is just 70 days away.

The countdown has begun.Come March 21, the first Metro train will ply between Nagole and Mettuguda. Nine trains will ferry across commuters. This, the Metro rail promises, is just the beginning and as the cliche goes - picture abhi baaki hain. In a couple of years, the Hyderabad skyline with change irreversibly with criss-crossing trains becoming live arteries.

As the deadline to launch Metro services in the city is drawing close, Telangana CS  Rajeev Sharma ordered GHMC to complete collecting the land necessary for Metro in 45 days.CM KCR gave his orders to complete the three phases of Metro in Hyderabad by 2017. A review meeting on progress of works will now be held every Tuesday from the coming week. HMR and L&T officials  explained that 1600 pillars are built in 44 kms range out of 72 kms in 3 phases of the project.
