TSRTC Garuda Bus Catches Fire Enroute To Warangal

Hyderabad: A Volvo bus belonging to the state-owned TSRTC (AP29Z 3990) caught fire on Tuesday afternoon at Aler in Nalgonda district.

Passengers of the bus noticed smoke emanating from the rear of the bus, while it was on its way from Hyderabad to Warangal. They immediately alerted the bus driver who stopped on the roadside and evacuated the passengers to safety. No casualties were reported.

Tragically, however, there was no sign of a fire tender or police patrol near the burning bus. A lone constable arrived after more than 30 minutes of the incident. The resultant delay gutted the bus beyond repair.
