Tremors in AP, Karnataka

The Gannavarm area and some other parts in Krishna district of Coastal Andhra Pradesh and the Dakshina Kannada region of Karnataka today felt mild tremors. Earthquake of a slight intensity hit Dakshina Kannada region this afternoon, the Indian Meteorological Department said.

The quake, measuring 3.9 on the Richter Scale, hit Karnataka at around 2.22 PM. The tremor's epicentre lay at a depth of 5 km, the IMD said in its preliminary report released in New Delhi.

In Andhra Pradesh, the intensity is being measured. There were no immediate reports of any injuries or damage either in Andhra Pradesh or in Karnataka.
