Train Services Hit As Lightning Strikes Railway Signals

Karimnagar: Several express trains were either halted or diverted after lightning striked the signalling system at Odela mandal in Peddapalli district in the wee hours of Monday.

Sampark Kranti and Swarna Jayanti express trains were halted for several hours at Peddapalli railway station. Meanwhile, the Bhagyanagar express was stopped near Raghavapur for signal clearance. Services on short distance trains and other passenger trains on the route were also impacted causing inconvenience to passengers.

Officials of the railway division have rushed personnel to restore the signalling system.
