Three killed as under-construction arch collapses in Kukatpally
Hyderabad: Three migrant laborers were killed and four others were injured when an under-construction arch collapsed here on Tuesday at Meadows Land gated community in Vasant Nagar Colony of Kukatpally.
The preliminary inquiry by town planning officials reveal that the permission given for the gated community in 2014 had no provision for the arch
The deceased have been identified as Nagabhushanam (55), Dharma Rao (50), both from Srikakulam district while Janardhan (40) was a native of Orissa. Meanwhile, the injured have been shifted to a hospital.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) ordered an inquiry into the incident. GHMC Commissioner B. Janardhan Reddy asked town planning officer to probe the incident and submit a report. The preliminary inquiry by town planning officials reveal that the permission given for the gated community in 2014 had no provision for the arch.

Deputy Mayor Baba Fasihuddin visited the scene and supervised rescue and relief operations.
A case has been registered against contractor Subhash under section 304a (causing death due to rash or negligent act) and 337 (causing injuries due to rash or negligent act).

This is the second such incident in the city in less than 10 days. It may be recalled that two laborers died and 10 others were injured when an under-construction building collapsed in Film Nagar on July 24. GHMC officials said that Film Nagar Cultural Centre (FNCC) was constructing the building without permission.
