Hyderabad: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) general secretaries M Srinivas Reddy and Venkateshwarlu predicted that the Congress party would not be able to gain the status of Opposition in the upcoming Assembly elections. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders should not assume that they had formed the government by winning five seats, they added.

Speaking at a press conference here at Telangana Bhavan on Thursday, he said that the Congress leaders were speaking about unnecessary issues due to a woeful dearth of topics. The TRS implemented promises that were included in its manifesto including those that were not mentioned in the manifesto, they said.

The TRS leaders criticised TPCC Chief Uttam Kumar Reddy for baselessly alleging phone tapping. "Uttam Kumar Reddy is scared of caretaker Chief Minister KCR. People of the State are observing Uttam's partnership with Chandrababu, who has been creating roadblocks for the construction of the State's irrigation projects," they alleged.

Uttam Kumar Reddy is trying to win the elections with the help of Chandrababu's funding, they added. Swami Paripoornanda of the BJP has begun uttering lies as soon as he joined the party, they remarked.

The TRS leaders further said that they were confident of the party's win owing to the introduction of various welfare schemes by CM KCR. Watch this space for more updates on Telangana Assembly election 2018.
