Andhra sweets for Amaravati

Andhra sweets will feature prominently in the menu at the foundation stone laying ceremony for the new capital of Andhra Pradesh.

The menu will include Tapeshwaram Khaja, chakarpongali, pulihora and curd rice. However, in view of huge crowds that are expected on the day, officials have decided to hand over these items in packets. The packets will also include a butter milk sachet and water sachets.

At the venue, the seating arrangements have been divided into 12 compartments. A senior government official will be assigned for each of the 12 compartments. They will hand over these food packets to the people at the start of the programme, that is around 12 noon, sources said.
