‘Smooching-Driving’ Proves Costly for Woman

A woman driver was arrested for ramming her vehicle into a cab after hitting a bike while allegedly smooching another woman passenger (representational image).

Bengaluru: A woman driver was arrested for ramming her vehicle into a cab after hitting a bike while allegedly smooching another woman passenger.

The incident took place at Nandidurga Road on Sunday evening. The accused woman driver, Shalini, 25, tried to flee but another motorist followed her and stopped her Honda City car a few metres away from the spot of the accident. The cab driver, Shekhar Ramachandra, who was driving the Swift DZire car that was damaged in the accident, filed a police complaint.

Eyewitnesses said that the accused was kissing another passenger when the accident took place. However, police, who registered the case, refused to confirm the allegation of bystanders that Shalini was trying to kiss her female friend and caused the accident. They also ruled out that she was driving under the influence of alcohol. She was booked for rash and negligent driving.
