Pressure to Perform: 2 Students Commit Suicide In Telangana

Khammam: In separate incidents, two students ended their life over their poor academic performance.

In the first incident, a girl identified Dandu Ravali of Khammam, committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan in her hostel on Wednesday. She was a first year student of agriculture polytechnic college Madhira. It is learnt that she resorted to this extreme step over poor academic performance. According to police officials, the girl who went her home during Sankranti told her parents that she would shift to another course but they insisted her to continue with the same course. She ended her life at the college hotel, after writing an examination.

In another case, Rahul an intermediate student, ended his life by jumping in front of a moving train in Warangal. Though the incident happened on Tuesday, it came to light on Wednesday after passerby saw his dead body. The parents of boy blamed the management for pressurizing their child. The parents were told that the body was depressed for scoring less in internal exams. The police filed a case against the management and are probing the matter.
