PIL over 'defects' in Telangana emblem

A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) was filed in High Court stating that rules were flouted while designing Telangana official seal and state emblem.

T.Dhanagopal of Hyderabad filed the PIL and impleaded .

Cabinet Secretary to Government of India, Chief Secretary to Government of Telangana and Designer Of the logo Ale Lakshman as the respondents.

“Words ‘Satyameva Jayate’ have to be placed below the three lions. But, the words are kept at some distance from the three lions. It is against the rules in State Emblem of India act,” said the petitioner.

“The Government of Telangana accepted the logo without correcting the defect. I request the High Court to issue an order to the State Government to correct the defect in the state emblem,” said Lakshman.
