YS Jagan raises pattadar passbook issue

Raising the issue during the Question Hour, he said the computer records could be useful for the secondary check, but the farmers should have the normal pattadar passbooks to secure loans.

He said e-pattadar passbooks could pose many problems. If the computerised revenue system gets hacked, land ownership issues could arise and cause great confusion, he pointed out and strongly suggested the continuance of the passbook system.

BJP floor leader Vishnukumar Raju supported YS Jagan's contention. In his reply, Revenue Minister KE Krishna Murthy said that the pattadar passbook system would continue to stay and added that it was only being made optional.
