Kavitha's Sensational Press Meet: Key Highlights
Not Joining Any Political Party, Says Kavitha in Sensational Press Meet
In a dramatic turn of events, senior BRS leader K Kavitha, daughter of former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, announced her resignation from both her position as a Member of the Legislative Council and her primary membership in the Bharat Rashtra Samithi party.
The announcement came a day after the BRS suspended her for alleged "anti-party activities." Kavitha held a press conference where she launched a scathing attack on two senior party leaders, accusing them of conspiring against her and the party's core leadership.
Here are the key points from her media conference:
Resignation from Party and MLC Post:
Kavitha announced her resignation from her MLC post and the BRS's primary membership, stating that she has no immediate plans to join any other political party, including Congress or BJP. She urged the public and media to stop spreading false rumors about her political future.
Rejection of Anti-Party Allegations:
Kavitha strongly refuted the BRS's claim that her actions were anti-party. She highlighted her continued work for public issues even after her release from jail, including efforts to address issues related to Backward Class reservations and disputes over irrigation projects. She questioned how wearing the party scarf and fighting for the people's cause could be considered anti-party behavior.
Accusations of Conspiracy:
Kavitha alleged that two individuals, whom she identified as Harish Rao and Santhosh Rao, were behind a conspiracy to oust her from the party. She described them as "tigers in the hide of sheep" and "match-fixers" working with the current government. She claimed that this was a larger conspiracy to take control of the party from within.
Damaging Allegations Against Harish Rao:
Kavitha made a series of serious accusations against Harish Rao, calling him a "double-shooter" who creates problems to later take credit for solving them. She accused him of being in touch with the BJP and of conspiring with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. She also alleged that he was responsible for the defeat of several key BRS leaders in past elections, including her own defeat in Nizamabad and even the attempt to defeat KCR in Kamareddy. She blamed him for the victory of Eatala Rajender in Huzurabad.
Critique of Santhosh Rao:
Kavitha referred to Santhosh Rao as "salt in the curry," a person who oversteps his role. She criticized his "Green India Challenge," calling it a "fake program" designed to steal credit from KCR's "Haritha Haram" initiative and to deceive actors like Chiranjeevi and Prabhas.
Emotional Appeal and Family Rift:
Kavitha spoke emotionally about her father, KCR, saying she learned politics from him and that he is a one-in-a-million father. She expressed her pain over not being able to talk to or meet her mother due to the current situation, attributing the family rift to the conspiracies of the two individuals she named. She also warned her brother, K.T. Rama Rao (KTR), the working president of the BRS, that he too could become a target of similar conspiracies in the future. She stated her disappointment that KTR did not intervene when a malicious campaign was unleashed against her.
Future Course of Action:
Kavitha stated that she will consult with her supporters, including leaders from the Telangana Jagruti organization and other community leaders, before deciding on her next steps. She emphasized that she is not joining any other political party at this time.
