New Year 2025 Celebrations in Delhi: Police Rules, Restrictions, Metro Closures

Delhi Police has implemented extensive traffic arrangements and restrictions across the national capital, with a special focus on Connaught Place, ahead of the New Year celebrations. Nearly 20,000 police and paramilitary personnel have been deployed to ensure law and order, officials announced on Tuesday.

A senior police official confirmed that 50 teams, equipped with alcometers, will be stationed at key locations to monitor and take action against instances of drunk driving. Additional alcometers will be available with picket staff for further checks.

Police also stated that traffic personnel will be stationed in large numbers throughout the city, particularly at popular celebration hotspots such as Connaught Place, Hauz Khas, and India Gate.
