'Thika Maka Thanda' was released in theatres today (December 15). The film's two heroes, Harikrishna and Ramakrishna, are twins. Shot in authentic rural locations, the film is directed by Venkat and has Annie as the heroine.

Plot:

The story takes place in a remote village, which has been condemned to collective forgetfulness. The villagers decide to appease the local deity, a goddess, in an attempt to overcome the bane. Just ahead of a grand Jatara, the statue of the goddess disappears. In this scenario, how do the villagers manage to overcome their amnesia problem? How did the statue disappear in the first place? How do the villagers manage to extricate themselves out of the problem? That's what the film is about.

Performances:

Harikrishna and Ramakrishna are twins and they share the perfect complementarity in the scheme of this film. The director chose twins for a reason. It was not an artificial choice but a decision driven by complete logic. Not only is their performance classy, but their ability to emote in action sequences is something to write about. The Ram-Laxman duo let the actors do the talking with their fights.

Annie has been away from the silver screen after shining as a child artist in films like 'Rajanna'. She is supert as Mallika in this film. She played the role of a village girl in an articulative fashion. The social media-savvy actress is so good in the song 'Oho Puttadi Bomma'.

Rekha Nirosha, the other heroine of the movie, gets ample scope to perform. Shivannarayana, Bobby Bedi, Yadamma Raju, Bullet Bhasker, and Rocket Raghava get funny to serious roles.

Technical Departments:

The cinematography by Hari Krishnan is attuned to the rural backdrop. The music by Suresh Bobbili is enjoyable. Kumar Nirmala Srujan's editing and Srinivas' art direction are commendable.

4. The family emotions.
5. The romantic portions.

1. Imperfect screenplay.

Verdict:

Thika Maka Thanda is far from perfect. Yet, it is enjoyable and the core concept is weighty.
