RK Sagar's The 100 Movie Review and Rating
RK Sagar, who became popular through the serial Mogali Rekulu, returns to the big screen with The 100, a crime thriller directed by Raghav Omkar Sasidha. The film released today. Let’s see how it turned out.
Story:
Vikranth (RK Sagar) is a newly appointed IPS officer who starts his career with a high-profile case involving multiple robberies and murders. While investigating, he notices a pattern in the crimes. Things get personal when Aarthi (Misha Narang) becomes a victim, and Vikranth discovers that powerful people might be behind it all.
The mystery deepens when Madhu (Vishnu Priya) enters the scene. She seems closely linked to the case. Who is Madhu? What’s her connection to the crimes? And how does Vikranth crack the case? The rest of the film answers these questions.
What Works:
RK Sagar gives a decent performance. He suits the role of a committed police officer, especially in the action and investigation scenes. His TV experience shows in his confidence on screen.
Misha Narang looks good and performs decently. Vishnu Priya and Dhanya Balakrishna, who appear more in the second half, also do a fair job. Tarak Ponnappa adds support with a strong performance.
The core story has potential. Some investigation scenes are handled well, and a few twists in the second half make the film somewhat engaging.
What Doesn’t Work:
The film suffers from a slow pace. The screenplay drags in many places, making the story feel less tense and exciting than it should.
Some scenes feel unnatural and unnecessary. A romantic song in the middle affects the flow and feels misplaced.
While the film tries to create emotional moments, the execution doesn’t work effectively.
The casting for some negative characters could’ve been better. The climax tries to end with a message but follows a routine pattern that feels predictable.
Technical Aspects:
Director Raghav Omkar Sasidha chose a strong idea but couldn’t deliver it effectively. A tighter screenplay would have made a big difference.
Music by Harshavardhan Rameshwar is average, though one song stands out.
Editing by Amar Reddy Kudumula is okay, but trimming a few parts would’ve helped the flow.
Cinematography by Shyam K Naidu is decent, and production values are fine.
Verdict:
The 100 is a crime drama that shows promise but doesn’t fully deliver. RK Sagar makes a decent comeback and puts in an honest performance. The film has some interesting moments, but the predictable story, slow pace, and lack of gripping scenes hold it back. Watch it only if you’re a fan of cop thrillers — and keep your expectations low.
Sakshi Rating: (2.75/5)
