Apple’s retail ambitions in India appear to be entering a new phase, with Hyderabad emerging as a potential new destination for an official Apple Store. The buzz began after Apple posted multiple retail-focused job openings for the city, indicating early groundwork for a physical outlet.

The roles advertised—including Store Leader, Senior Manager, and Genius—are typically associated with Apple’s company-owned retail stores. This has led industry observers to believe that Apple is planning a full-fledged retail presence in Hyderabad rather than a partner-operated outlet.

Apple’s hiring pattern suggests long-term planning, as the company usually initiates recruitment close to a year ahead of a store launch. If this trend holds, Hyderabad could see its first Apple Store open doors by early 2027.

The possible Hyderabad expansion aligns with Apple’s broader strategy to deepen its reach in India, one of the world’s fastest-growing smartphone markets. The company has been aggressively expanding both manufacturing and retail operations in the country as it looks to boost market share.

After launching its online store in 2020, Apple made a major retail push with flagship stores in Mumbai and Delhi in 2023. This was followed by new outlets in Bengaluru, Pune, and Noida, with another Mumbai store expected to open soon.

With India delivering record revenues for Apple and Hyderabad positioning itself as a major tech and consumer hub, an Apple Store in the city could further strengthen the brand’s foothold in the Indian market.
