To get something favourable from Gujarat is difficult: Congress' KC Venugopal

Thiruvananthapuram, July 7 (IANS) Soon after the Gujarat High Court on Friday refused to stay Rahul Gandhi's conviction and two-year jail term in a criminal defamation case, which led to the loss of his Parliament membership, AICC general secretary ( organisation) K.C .Venugopal said this was "least surprising" as "to get something favourable from Gujarat is difficult now".

"The stage is such that these days from Gujarat to get something favourable is difficult. None of us are surprised by this verdict.

"We will go forward and approach the Supreme Court," said Venugopal while taking part in a public meeting in his home state, here.
