CBSE Class 12 Revaluation 2026 Starts From May 19
The Central Board of Secondary Education has announced that students who are not satisfied with their Class 12 results will soon be able to apply for verification and re-evaluation of marks.
CBSE Controller of Examinations Sanyam Bhardwaj confirmed that the board will open the official verification window from May 19 to May 22, 2026. During this period, students can request scanned copies of their evaluated answer sheets and check whether any mistakes were made during the marking process.
The board stated that with more than 1.25 crore answer sheets being evaluated every year, minor errors can sometimes happen. To maintain transparency and fairness, CBSE has provided students with an opportunity to carefully review their marks and raise objections if needed.
CBSE Re-Checking And Revaluation Dates
According to the official schedule:
May 19 to May 22, 2026
Students can apply for:
Verification of marks
Scanned copies of answer sheets
May 26 to May 29, 2026
Students can apply for:
Re-evaluation of specific answers
Expert review for suspected marking mistakes
CBSE officials advised students to first review the scanned copies carefully before applying for re-evaluation.
Marks May Increase Or Decrease
The board also clarified that marks can either increase or decrease after the verification process. If the expert committee finds that marks were reduced unfairly, corrected marks will be updated. However, if a student was awarded extra marks by mistake, the final score may also decrease after rechecking.
Students are therefore encouraged to apply carefully and compare their answer sheets with the official marking scheme before submitting any challenge.
The CBSE verification and re-evaluation process is expected to help students ensure accurate evaluation while maintaining confidence in the examination system.
