YSRCP Hindupur Office Vandalised by Balakrishna’s Followers, TDP Leaders; YS Jagan Slams Barbaric Attack
YSRCP president and Andhra Pradesh former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Saturday (November 15) strongly condemned the attack against YSRCP office in Hindupur. Jagan described it as a “violent and barbaric attack” carried out by TDP leaders and followers of actor-politician Nandamuri Balakrishna.
In a sharp statement posted on X, Jagan said the assault — which reportedly involved vandalising office property, smashing furniture, breaking glass panes and physically attacking party workers—was nothing less than “a direct assault on democracy itself.”
He accused the ruling TDP of emboldening mobs and using violence as a tool to suppress political opposition. “TDP’s brutality in Hindupur clearly shows how Chandrababu Naidu’s leadership encourages fear, violence and the crushing of dissent,” Jagan wrote, asserting that no government that fails to protect the democratic rights of its opponents has “any moral right to speak about governance.”
What has further alarmed the YSRCP, Jagan said, is the “absolute inaction” of the police. He alleged that the silence of the law-enforcement machinery was not negligence but a “warning” that state institutions were being openly misused for Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s political agenda.
Calling the attack an affront not just to YSRCP but to “every citizen who believes in democracy and political freedom,” Jagan demanded accountability and urged immediate action from authorities to restore law and order in the region.
