Mahanati is Fourth Biggest Telugu Opener in USA

Keerthy Suresh starrer Mahanati released yesterday. The actress plays a titular role in the film. The film is a biopic of legendary actress Savitri and traces her rise to stardom. Mahanati has drawn appreciation from all quarters, including audiences and critics. The word of mouth has been positive and that's what's drawing the audience to theatres. The makers released the film on a week day yet the film is running successfully to packed theatres across the world.

South Indian actress Savitri had acted in more than 300 films in several languages during 50s and 60s. Mahanati is a bilingual film released in Telugu and Tamil which is roaring at the box office.

Mahanati started with a bang and registered a fantastic opening of $303,456 from premiere show collections at the USA box office. According to reports, Mahanati is doing well when compared to Allu Arjun's Naa Peru Surya.

the buzz doing the rounds in filmnagar circles suggest that Mahanati has turned out to be the fourth biggest telugu opener in USA after Pawan Kalyan's Agnyaathvaasi, Mahesh Babu's Bharat Ane Nenu and Ram Charan's Rangasthalam. Mahanati has just started creating records and there would certainly be more in the coming days. The film is all set to break many records set by other Tollywood films.

Coming to domestic box office, Mahanati could have easily collected around Rs 5 Cr approximately from telugu states. Exact figures are yet to be known. Mahanati is directed by Nag Ashwin who had earlier directed Yevade Subramanyam which was a hit too.

Apart from Keerthy Suresh, Mahanati also stars Dulquer Salman as Gemini Ganesh, Samantha as Madhuravani, Naga Chaitanya as ANR and Vijay Deverakonda, Rajendra Prasad, Mohan Babu in pivotal roles.
