Krishna: SI on duty run over by van at check post

A police sub-inspector on duty died after hit by a van in Krishna district on Saturday. 

The cop was conducting checks on passing vehicles at a check post at Kanumuru village of Pamarru mandal. SI Prasad, who was on duty when a over-speeding van carrying fruits hit him. The cop attempted to stop the van for check when the driver sped away and hit the cop in the process after he lost control of the vehicle.

The SI died on the way to hospital.
