It’s a covert operation, alleges Varavara Rao

Civil liberties leader Varavara Rao on Wednesday termed the Chattisgarh encounter in which nine Maoists were killed as covert operation.

Talking to reporters in Khammam, Varavara Rao suspected that Maoist top leaders Sudhakar, Raja Reddy and Hariharan were in the captivity of Pamedu police. They should be presented before the court if they were really in police custody. Varavara Rao condemned the police claim that Sudhakar was one among the dead. He said Sudhakar’s father himself denied the claim and said it was not the body of Sudhakar. The police should identify him and announce his credentials.
