Is Charminar not in Telangana?

Hyderabad: In what could be major faux pas, Telangana'’s iconic monuments - Golconda and Charminar are not reflected as part of Telangana as per Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) records. Even after the bifurcation, the monuments are depicted as being part of Andhra Pradesh.

Let alone monuments, even Telangana state doesn’t exist in ASI records.

A senior official, who noted the gaffe in the organizational website said, "It is under process and will be changed. Charminar, Golconda and other Telangana monuments will be shown in its respective state."

It may be recalled that ASI issued a notification in June establishing a new circle in Andhra Pradesh as Amaravati as its head quarters, bifurcating it from Hyderabad circle in order to provide better maintenance of centrally protected monuments.
